ELYSIA UTECH
Twin Pillars Known as conjoined twins, parking meters have stood together since birth. Their looks diminish as time wanes by, through each rain, hail, sleet, or snow storm. They’re robbed daily of their coins, maybe tickled by a credit card, if they are modern enough. With their idealistic, proper, religious tendencies, they do not work on Sunday’s. Days, months, years go by, as they patiently wait, only 4 feet high. |
Elysia Utech is a senior from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. She is an alumna of the 2015 Iowa Young Writers' Studio, the 2017 Kenyon Review Young Writers, and currently serves as the Poetry Editor for Glass Kite Anthology. Elysia's work has been commended with multiple honors, including the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and she recently founded and is the Editor-in-Chief of a literary magazine in her local community. When she's not experimenting with her writing, you can find her reading, traveling, dancing, or playing with her beloved puppy.
