HANNAH HIPPENSTEEL
Wrecked I want you to come to a fork in the road and see the decision I made when I veered away from being closed off and led down a dead end of vulnerability wasn't easy for me to ignore GPS directions that warned me no good course of action would come from following you off the grid but I liked the feeling of being in uncharted territory with someone who dared me to explore that road, one that stretched farther than my imagination when you said you couldn't imagine your life without me but picked the road that took you as far away from me as possible yeah now love's zooming around me like a highway but you still have my breath jammed in my throat like the expressway in 5'oclock traffic painful as a collision with collateral damage air bag deployed when you T-boned me at the intersection of forgiving and forgetting can't look away from the car wreck we became and can't bear to consider when our paths would have ever crossed if you'd taken a detour instead of paused at the fork in the road |
